As I set out on the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a walking journey through various parts of India, I was filled with anticipation and excitement. However, as I traversed through the cities and villages, I was struck by the grim reality of the massive unemployment crisis in the country and the complete neglect by the current Modi government.

Unemployment is one of the most pressing issues facing the country today, and it was palpable as I walked through the streets. I encountered countless individuals who were struggling to make ends meet, with no steady source of income. Despite the government’s claims of job creation, the ground reality was far from it. Many people had lost their jobs due to the pandemic, while others had been unemployed for years.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra was a journey of solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed sections of society, who have been the worst hit by the current government’s policies. I met farmers who were struggling to sell their produce due to the lack of infrastructure, young people who were unable to find employment, and women who were denied basic rights and opportunities.

As I walked through the villages and towns, I was struck by the complete neglect of the government toward the people. The infrastructure was in shambles, with potholed roads, broken bridges, and dilapidated schools and hospitals. Despite the tall claims of development, it was evident that the government had failed to deliver on its promises.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra was a powerful reminder of the need for social and political change in the country. The government’s apathy towards the people was evident, and it was clear that a new approach was needed to address the unemployment crisis and the systemic neglect of marginalized communities.

My experience with the Bharat Jodo Yatra was eye-opening and sobering. The massive unemployment crisis and the neglect of the current government were stark realities that cannot be ignored. As citizens, it is our responsibility to demand accountability and push for change. We must come together to create a society that is just, equitable, and inclusive, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
